Who are we?
We are a voluntary organisation dedicated to the training and use of mountain
rescue search dogs to assist in the search for and rescue of missing persons,
predominantly in a mountainous environment, but also in other areas where
our skills may be of benefit.
All Lake District mountain rescue search dog handlers are also members of a mountain rescue team affiliated
to the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association (LDSMRA) and
therefore must already be competent in first aid and survival in a mountainous
environment.
The Association is a registered charity which can continue
to exist only because of public donations.
Latest Dog Find
4th Nov 08 - Search Dog Flash
A male walker was reported missing in the vicinity of Pike Hill, Tailbridge. Kirkby Stephen Team mobilised with two search dogs. The man was found by Search Dog Flash (Dave Watt), and helped off the hill.

JANUARY 2009 TRAINING WEEKEND
Another great weekend of training saw us experience fine, if cold, weather. As usual the dogsbodies braved the elements and all of the dog teams progressed - notably, John Leadbetter with Skye and Ollie Benson with Kitt passed their first assessments on the way to callout status.
